How did the woman sufferage movement relate to progressivism?
Suffrage for women was related to progressivism because it occured during the time of progressive reform. Many highly educated women were becoming more active in society and began to push for women's right to vote. Most progressive reformers supported the idea of suffrage for women.
What were the major differences between the progressive candidates Roosevelt and Wilson?
The major difference between Roosevelet and Wilson was their platforms during the 1912 election. Roosevelt supported the idea of New Nationalism, where the president would be in charge of regulating big business. Wilson's platform was called New Freedom. Wilson disagreed with big businesses, instead he favored small business that would promote competition.
How did Progressivism change the role of women in the early 1900's? Did their role change for the better, if at all?
Progressivism greatly changed the role of women during the early 1900's. Women became more involved in the work force and in the government. Laws were passed specifically to protect women in foctories and during world war 1 women took another step forward covering for men who were off fighting. During this time women were also granted the right to vote in the 19th Amendment which was one of the largest steps women have taken in the history of the U.S. All of this was accomplished by progressive ideas and finished off the progressive era in 1920 with the last great reform.

What were the major differences between the progressive candidates Roosevelt and Wilson?
The major differences between the two candidates were Roosevelt’s idea of New Nationalism versus Wilson’s idea of New Freedom. Roosevelt was progressive in the sense that he believed that listening to what the people needed was vital to a functioning and successful country, but that the president was still the regulator. Wilson advertised himself as “The People’s Advocate” and was seen as having more Jeffersonian politics. He believed that “bigness” was bad, and that the president should not take on a paternalistic attitude.
Did everyone in America agree with the progressive beliefs of reform? Who were they?
The people in America who believed in progressive reform were the people such as factory workers and women through women suffrage and child labor. Progressives were also middle class reformers who wanted to improve social issues and relations.
Was progressivism successful with the consideration that World War 1 was a step backwards for the U.S.?
I think that progressivism was successful in the way that it brought up many ideas of reform and gave people, such as women, a chance to be heard. It helped reform the U.S because it was about gradual change not sudden irrationaly change that politians were used to.
Was progressivism successful with the consideration that World War 1 was a step backwards for the U.S.?
Yes, progressivism was successful with the consideration that World War 1 was a step backwards for the U.S. Although it may seem contradictory that Progressives took a step backwards, it was in a positive way. When the U.S. entered the war, it realized that it truly needed to become the global empire. The nationalism in the U.S. also increased during World War 1. Many young americans wanted to fight for their country in order to help in becoming the global empire.
